When we started to build Gather, we had a vision that a spark of positivity in the middle of Dudley could begin to make flames of optimism glow in every part of its community.
It took six months of very hard work and a lot of stress, to create the beginnings of a warm and inviting space out of a derelict premises that had stood empty for over 9 years. We opened our doors in November 2016 and since then, we have been lucky enough to be a gathering place for lots of people in the Dudley area and beyond.
Our welcome aims to be open and honest, with a gentle invitation to be curious and take part in our growing community of doers. Those who want to see Dudley thrive, those who want to meet like-minded individuals, those who want to create, those who want to be a part of, and a reason for, a change in our local environment and way of thinking. These are just some of the people who are drawn to gather.
Dudley is a culturally and economically diverse borough with lots of people who care about where they live. We invite anyone and everyone to gather, to bring their ideas, their projects, their visions for their community and make them happen. So many people have so much to give and we want to bring them all together to help make Dudley the place where things happen.
